About APT
Aontacht Phobail Teoranta (APT) was established in 1988 under the auspices of the Midland Health Board (now HSE Dublin Mid-Leinster). APT tackles a wide range of initiatives in the fields of Housing, Access, Training, Employment, Education and Disability Awareness.
Mission Statement:
APT is an organisation which exists to promote the economic and social integration of people with disabilities, through the stimulation, mobilisation and development of local resources.
APT is driven by the following values:
Justice: People with disabilities and other marginalised persons should have the same rights, opportunities and access as other members of society, particularly in relation to housing, education, training and employment.
Inclusion: Communities that embrace diversity and create more opportunities for people to help each other are better places for everyone to live. The focus on the ability of the person rather than on their disability underpins APT's policy on inclusion and integration.
Respect: Recognition of the intrinsic value of people regardless of circumstances by respecting their individuality and experiences, sharing information and power and working in partnership.
Excellence: Ongoing commitment to provide a more responsive and high quality service using customer feedback and benchmarking systems to develop best practices.
