For Potential Employees
If you are looking for a job, either full-time or part-time and you have a disability, APT in association with FAS, provide an "On-the-Job" training scheme linking employment and training.
APT can assist you through:
- Career Advice
- Sourcing a training company
- Designing an Individual Training Programme to suit your requirements
- Providing support during training
While you are training:
- A training allowance will be paid
- A travel bonus may be paid to those who qualify
- Availing of the Training Allowance will not effect your entitlement to Social Welfare benefits
For Potential Employers
Employer Based Training (EBT) is an initiative linking employment and training. The aim is to use the expertise of the employer and the practical experience of the workplace to train people with a disability to become potential employees.
APT uses an inclusive model of training for EBT which means that training occurs at the job site. Any extra occupational training required, for example, Manual Handling or Basic Food Hygiene, is also provided for the trainees. APT also covers the cost of insurance, while training allowances are covered by FAS.
APT is accredited, since 1999, by the National Accreditation Committee and subsequently FAS as an Approved Training Centre.
In the past APT, has assisted many people to acquire skills and obtain employment in numerous companies throughout the Midlands Region, including:
- Catering Services
- Child Care Services
- Electronic Assembly
- Factories
- Financial Institutions
- Hospitals
- Hotels
- Office/Administration Services
- Retail Sales Outlets and many more.....
